- The First Alert SMICO100‑AC is a hardwired, interconnectable smoke and carbon monoxide alarm designed to provide continuous whole‑home protection even during power outages. It uses Precision Detection to reduce nuisance alarms from everyday cooking while still responding quickly to fast‑flaming fires, and its electrochemical CO sensor monitors for dangerous carbon monoxide levels. When wired with other compatible First Alert/BRK alarms, it triggers all units simultaneously for faster alerting throughout the home. A battery backup keeps the alarm functioning during electrical failures, and the test/silence button allows easy maintenance and temporary quieting of non‑emergency alerts.
